Chalong is a great Thai restaurant on in the Hell's Kitchen area - make sure to make reservations if you are dining on a Friday night or on the weekend! The staff seemed to be very busy but the food came out very quickly. We tried the Green Mango Salad ($16), the Crab Curry ($28) and the Khao Pad Mun Nuer ($28 - fried rice with beef rump). Everything we tried was very good - I liked the spice level of the Crab Curry, especially because I was expecting it to not be spicy. I also have never heard of crab curry before! There were chunks of crab meat and a crispy soft shell crab in the curry - I think there could have been more added to the curry as it was just kind of saucy; maybe some added vegetables would have enhanced the dish. The waitresses always refilled my water glass and were very attentive. Overall great Thai restaurant that I would love to eat at again!

This place was packed when we came at 5PM on a Saturday. I definitely recommend making reservations beforehand. Although on a hot summer day, their air conditioning wasn't working. They accommodated us by putting a fan in front of us. The service was friendly and fast. We tried several different dishes and they were all delicious. I'd love to come back!

The vibe of this place was extremely energetic. The foods were genuinely Thai. You can tell by looking at the sauces, condiments, and ingredients . By sitting near the bar, I could also see the bartenders were very busy. We tried the appetizer Gorlae(like shrimp taco). The Pad Mee, a southern Pad Tai, was okay. The Wok of Green was regular. The main course, steamed fish, was based on sea bass. The chef used a lot of bean sprouts, which looked great but tasted so so. Overall, each dish's quantity was from small to medium. It's a trendy joint if you are willing to pay for premium.

I'm not a big Thai person, but their food was great! My favorite dishes were the fried fish, garlic ribs, and pork belly. The garlic ribs were so tender and juicy, and they fell off the bones SO easily. The pork belly wasn't too oily/fatty too! A decent meat to fat ratio. The fried fish was something I didn't expect to like, but was honestly so good. You must try those 3 dishes if you come!!! Everything was so flavorful and smelled so amazing. Just be aware that the crab curry is SUPER spicy. Service was great too! All the waiters were super friendly and knowledgeable about what their best dishes are. They recommended some of our dishes and definitely knew what we had to get. Their recommendations did not disappoint.
